who we are.

Our TEam

Based in London’s Chelsea Harbour, Caballero consists of an experienced team of five with roots across the world. Playing an important role in the studio’s creative output, many in the team have been trained by Lucia since graduation and every individual plays an integral part in Caballero’s hands-on approach to each project. As crucial components in a company that takes pride in its familial way of working, the team is fully aligned on a collective objective to conceptualise and deliver beautiful spaces.

In 2022 the Caballero studio and team will expand to a second office in Jersey.

LUCIA C A B A L L E R O | DIRECTOR

Lucia Caballero is a London-based interior designer. Born in Ceres, South Africa and residing between London and Jersey, Lucia honed her design and project management skills while working with esteemed property developers in both the US and UK before establishing her own design studio in 2009. With nearly 20 years’ experience in visualising and executing both residential and commercial projects across the globe, Lucia’s standout vision is defined by an emphasis on quality, creativity and, most importantly, the joy of living.

With an aesthetic characterised by strong lines, contrasting materials and a bold use of colour, Lucia’s designs are grounded in her aptitude for problem solving and a reverence for both natural and luxury elements. From gem tones to hand-painted wallpapers, liquid metals to antique accents, her layered approach results in memorable designs that frequently harmonise eclectic vintage and bespoke pieces alongside clean, contemporary details.

With this, Lucia promises an exciting authenticity that is uniquely tailored to each client, and each of her one-of-a-kind projects is bound by a common thread of comfortable elegance. Influenced by a number of figures across the fields of art, design and photography, Lucia is known to draw inspiration from creatives who include the painters Roger Hilton and Terry Frost, furniture designers Augusto Bozzi and Gio Ponti, artist Cy Twombly, and South African photographer Zanele Muholi. The result of this medley of styles and touchpoints is an unexpected wow factor in each of Lucia’s project.
